Taiwan’s bakeries have a long tradition of taking ideas from different cultures and giving them a distinctly Taiwanese character. During the twentieth century, Western-style breads, cakes and biscuits became part of everyday bakery life, appearing alongside Taiwan’s traditional pastries and celebration foods.
Our Snow Cookies take inspiration from this meeting of traditions. They have a delicate, crumbly texture that seems to disappear as you eat them. Each biscuit is finished with a soft coating of icing sugar, giving it its snowy appearance.
They are not a traditional Taiwanese recipe, but a Lucky Pineapple interpretation of Taiwan’s much loved bakery and gift giving culture.
